Marcel van den Ende

business and shareholders, road transport

Marcel van den Ende knows the world of business inside out. After working for a range of companies as a corporate legal consultant, he joined the Leeman Verheijden Huntjens Advocaten law firm in 2001 as a lawyer and partner. Preserving the best thing about his profession, i.e. working for companies, Marcel was from that time onward also able to draw on the formidable source of combined expertise that is LVH Advocaten.

His personal expertise? Business law in the broadest sense of the concept. Marcel can advise on all matters relating to small, medium-size, and large enterprises, covering corporate law, joint ventures, acquisitions, restructuring, and the development of new projects/operations such as the implementation of block chain technology in the logistic sector. In his work, an important accent is on contract law: drawing up, reviewing, and tightening contracts.

At the start of a partnership, Marcel van den Ende is brought in as a legal counsel, as a lawyer. As mutual trust grows, his advice will go beyond legal matters, and Marcel increasingly becomes a sounding board. Marcel: ‘I’m basically a general practitioner for legal matters. They know: Marcel is my contact at LVH.’

Marcel is an approachable man. Analytical, creative, and highly solution-driven. A skilled and experienced negotiator. Whenever interests clash, he will try to avoid litigation. He prefers to solve looming conflicts face to face, opening the contents of the case up to discussion in a practical, and yet respectful, manner. He aims for consensus. Pointing to the costs and long-term consequences, he will often advise his client to, apart from principles, consider solution possibilities. This is how he helps establish lasting business relationships.

The wide variety of issues he is asked to deal with require flexibility, quick action, capacity for empathy, and a nimble mind. As well as the ability to strike a balance in the playing field of workload, deadlines, and clients’ high expectations.

Besides a lawyer, Marcel is also a volunteer/board member at the Rotterdam Food Bank. In his spare time, Marcel occasionally works as an odd-job man at a travelling circus.
